Growing Ward 29's tree canopy

July 27 Tree Tour in East York

On a sunny summer afternoon, we got a fantastic turnout for our very first tree tour. Many thanks to Robyn Stewart (LEAF) for co-leading with us, and to Councillor Mary Fragedakis for sponsoring it.

For two great write-ups of our outing, see
•    LEAF’s blog entry – www.yourleaf.org/blog/guest-blogger/2014-07-31/excited-about-ward-29s-urban-forest
•    A very talented photographer’s blog entry – petervisima.wordpress.com/tag/ward-29

Some folks asked for a map and references to guide further explorations. First, here’s where we went:

Second, here’s our map to some of the oldest trees in East York:

LEAF continues to provide great tree tours around the Toronto area. For a list of upcoming tours, go to www.yourleaf.org/calendar/list-upcoming-events.
